Hey guys this is a copy of the Original thread for Westbrook Academy of Performing Arts. I've copied this here with the WAPA Founders (Me, Jared Lusner, Melanie Lusner, Amanda Gates, and Rani LeBel) to help you guys understand what happened before the very first post here. This should be the exact copy of what it originally was. You also may notice that some of these were posted here already, with slight changes. This is due to the fact of other members joining us during the beta times. Please take the time to read this, it would probably clarify a lot more. Thanks!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jade stopped to look at everything for a moment. She still couldn't believe that she was actually at Westbrook! This was probably the most important point in her life. Her cellphone beeped. It was a text message from Jeff.
How do you like your new school??
Jade looked away at her phone and snapped it shut, a little too loud. Two people around her looked at her like, what the heck is her problem? Jade didn't care. There was nothing, nothing that could make her ever want to talk to her brother again. Though she yearned to see her brothers face one last time, she wasn't going to lift her grudge just yet. Not now, she thought to herself.

Rani LeBel set her bags on the plain white mattress. What if I get a human for a roommate? she thought. Well duh, of course I'm gonna get a human roommate! What're the odds of another idiot vampire coming to this school? This wasn't a good idea...She sighed. Oh well... Rani unpacked her bags and made her bed. She would just try out one semester of college, if she didn't like it she could always go back and live alone somewhere else. Rani had nothing else to do, so she laid down on her bed and closed her eyes. Many times had she tried to dream, but nothing had ever came, so she kept her eyes closed and mimicked her mother's voice and started singing to herself.

When Jade opened the door of her new room, she found her apparent roommate on her bed singing. The voice was soft, but it didn't look like it belonged on her lips. "Um...hi, I'm Jade Waylin. You must be Rani LeBel, right?"

"Yeah, I'm Rani." Rani's smile faded into an expression of horror. I did not just change my voice back to normal in front of her! Jade smiled at her for whatever reason. "I...uh.." Rani stuttered. Jade placed her bags on the ground. Rani just stood there.

"It's nice to know that I'm not the only one here... So, if that's that, then I guess I can do this," Jade answered. Her bags levitated over the ground, and landed softly on her new bed. Jade was still smiling. "I'm so glad I'm not going to tough it out with a human. I wonder if we have any classes together. I have Chemistry, Literature, and History. My main classes are guitar and dance. What are yours?"

"Um, I have literature, science, chemistry, singing, and piano. Cool, we have literature and chemistry together! Sorry if I sound a little off today. I was totally expecting having to live the semester with a human. Just a little dizzy from surprise is all." Rani gave her a sleepy smile. "So you specialize in projection? I specialize in voice and appearance mimicking. Watch this." Rani took the form of Jade, in her dark, distress jeans and brown halter top under a beige sweater with a swirling turquoise design. "Cool, huh?" she said in a perfect impression of Jade's voice. Rani smiled and phased back to her own form.

"I can't believe I'm actually going!" Amanda and Kasey were both in tears. "I'm going to miss you so much!" Amanda hugged her tightly. This was it. This was probably the last time she'd see Kasey. "I'm so happy for you Amanda, and I'll miss you too. There's no way you can pass this up." They both smiled and hugged goodbye this last time. Amanda jumped into her pink convertible, a present for her seventeenth birthday, and sighed as she put her hands on the wheel. She waved to Kasey and her parents and drove off, bound for college. Westbrook Academy. Amanda had lived her entire life in Vancouver, Washington. She was now twenty-one, had a car, and also a dream. She was finally ready for the two-hour trip to Portland. Amanda was wearing her dark black sunglasses, white blouse, and pink pleated skirt with white knee-highs and a pair of white sneakers. The wind was blowing in her face, the sun high in the sky, and she knew that she had an entire life ahead of her. Amanda Gates was definitely not going to be a nobody.

Jade spent the rest of the day projecting her belongings into different places, while she was being carefully studied by Rani. She couldn't believe how early she arrived; most people were still just arriving in their dorms. They were both unbelievably bored all day. Rani gave up on rearranging her pillows for the tenth time and lay down on her bed, mimicking someone elses singing. Jade laid down on her bed also. A small wooden box floated over to her, and opened, revealing six small trinkets. One was a small, amber heart. The others were a red and black guitar pick, a tiny opal stone, a small maginifying circle of glass, a ring with a ruby jewel, and a red rose broach. The items floated out of the box, and Jade projected them to circle above continuously over her head while she watched them.

Amanda pulled into the parking lot of her new school. It was very large, and the medians were expensively flourished in exotic plants. How odd, Amanda thought, This school must have a lot of extra money... Amanda carried her bags to Dormitory Building C, room 14. According to her papers, her roommate was someone named Delaney Gerahi, someone who hopefully wouldn't hurt her social status. When she opened the door, she breathed a sigh of relief. "Well I guess she's late." At least Amanda had some time to herself. The rooms were a lilac color with two beds, two nightstands beside them, two dressers, and a large window viewing the Academy Garden. It took her only fifteen minutes to get all of her stuff situated, so all she had left to do was to wait for Delaney.

"Do you want to go out to the Campus Garden with me, Rani?" Jade didn't really feel like going anwhere, but it was a lot healthier than sitting and staring at these spinning trinkets that only bring memories of pain and depression. "No thanks. I've got to do some extra-credit paper for my singing class. I'm planning on calling in sick for two days, so I don't want to make it up later, but I'd be happy to go tomorrow if you like." "No, that's fine. I just gotta stop sitting here doing nothing. Bye then, Rani." Jade looked out the window before she walked out of the dorm's front door and into the cool air. It was getting darker, and the sun was just setting. The Campus Garden wasn't too far now, and there weren't many people out. Jade sat under a tree and watched the grass sway in the wind. Every different piece of grass swayed individually. Occasionally Jade saw a group of blades that flowed together continuously, leaving the individual blades looking strange. She sighed.

Melanie didn't mind leaving her brother as much as she thought she would have back in Tennesse. She would probably miss the rolling hills and the swaying fields, but this was a new opprotunity and she was ready to take it. Melanie smiled at Jared beside her. He smiled back. "Are you okay with this, Mel? Are you sure this is want you want?" Jared had that concerned look in his eyes, that Melanie had seen quite often ever since she brought up the option of applying to Westbrook. "Completely and Absolutely. Jared, I'm fine. I'm twenty years old, and I can handle this. Please, trust me. I'm not a little girl anymore." He brushed a strand of hair out of her face. "Yes, you are a little girl. You're my little sister, and I don't want anything to happen to you. But," he paused for a second and Melanie could tell that it strained him to say this, "I do agree you're ready. If you ever feel uncertain about this, just come find me, and we'll go back home." "Not going to happen and you know it," Melanie answered. "That's the Melanie I know." He smiled and they both hugged goodbye. Melanie and Jared parted to find their dorms as the sun began to set.

Jared didn't want to go to his dorm just yet. He could sense that Melanie wasn't going to have a hard time at college, although he was. He instead decided to walk in the garden. As Jared approached a tree alongside the path, he paused. He could sense someone was near, which was odd because it was dark outside, and he observed that humans couldn't see well in the dark. Jared walked around the tree to see who was there. A girl with long, dark brown hair was sitting under the tree. She looked like she was asleep, but Jared didn't think she was. There was something different about her. He thought about one possibility, but he instantly shrugged it off. She looked too delicate and innocent to be a vampire.

Jade opened her eyes suddenly. There was a boy who was probably only a year or two older than her standing above her. His expression was curious, and he had blonde hair that was messily done and blue eyes. He reminded Jade of her brother Jeff, but Jeff had softer features. Although, Jade used to have softer features also before she turned. This boy must be a vampire also, she thought. But he could just be naturally drop-dead gorgeous... The boy reached out a hand to her. She took it and he helped her up. Not bad for someone I don't even know.

The girl's eyes were an emerald green. They were surprised to see Jared standing here, and he wondered what she was thinking, but something about her made him not want to even try. "Hi, I'm Jared Lusner. Did you just get accepted here?" She nodded, then looked at him like she was confused. "Um, I'm Jade Waylin. I just drove up from Vancouver. Where are you from?" Jared couldn't look away from her eyes; they were so compelling, but not like his power of controling people. His power was compulsion, and when he uses it on people they don't know that it's impossible to resist. But this...this was different. Jared knew that there was no way to resist. "I... I'm from Tennesse actually. I flew in with my younger sister Melanie. It was a miracle that we both got accepted." Jade gave a small, quiet chuckle. "Yeah, I thought that too. I was surprised that I could get in anywhere after what happened to-" She stopped and looked down. Jared didn't want to see her like that. She was too delicate. "After what happened? You can tell me." Jade looked back up. "My brother disappeared when I was younger, and...after that, everything seemed to start to go downhill from there. Jeff and I were close, and I'd promised him that I would be okay if he was ever to leave, but I don't think I can keep that promise. I barely know you, and I've already told you things that I don't tell most people." "My parents abandoned Mel and I when we were little. I was only five, but I still don't remember them much." Jared wanted to know if she was a vampire after all, but it was too dangerous a risk. He decided there was only one way to ask her to know for sure. It was a code that most vampires know about. "E întuneric, mai mare decât zi?" The question was in Romanian, which was a private joke also. The humans believed that Dracula and his vampire friends all came from a province in Romania. The words meant "Is the dark larger than day?" Jade looked from side to side, and whispered to him. "Întuneric este cel mai plãcut cu noaptea de minuni." Apparently, Jade's innocence had fooled him. The words were, "The dark is most pleasurable with the night's wonders." She was a vampire.

Jade couldn't believe it. Was this place swarming with vampires, or is it just another coincidence? She didn't pursue that question any further. Of course it's a coincidence. Not many vampires could be living in the same place. It was rare that you would even see four living together. "I'm glad I have someone else to talk to." Jade smiled. "My roommate, Rani, is a vampire also. You and your sister should come see us some time." Jared smiled back. His grin sparkled like the stars in the moonlight. "I wasn't expecting you to answer with that response, and yes, I think we should meet up later. Do you have any of my classes?" He handed her a folded piece of paper. "I have guitar and chemistry, and Rani has singing and chemistry." Jade smiled to herself. At least I'll be able to see Jared often. She handed the paper back to him. "Then we'll be seeing each other. I have to go make sure I have all of my stuff ready for class tomorrow. Here's my number, call me later, okay?" He gave her a paper that had his cell phone number on it. "Sure. Bye, Jared." He waved at her, and walked off toward his dorm. She stuffed the paper in her jean pocket. The moon was high, so Jade decided it was time to go back. Rani would love to hear about this.
